Grow Your Career With MSP

While many of your peers in alternate fields of study may view internships as just a way to gain experience, accounting students know that choosing an internship opportunity is a critical moment impacting the entire future trajectory of your career.

At Market Street Partners, our team has been in your shoes, and we know what it takes to succeed.

Numerous members of our team have kicked off their careers with an internship at our firm and have grown to become integral members of our full-time team. We know what it’s like to be “the new kid on the block,” and we work to create an inviting environment of collaboration, learning, and growth for our interns and junior staff — and really, for every member of our team.

If you’re interested in joining a growing firm that takes a team-centered and forward-thinking approach to accounting, please check out our openings and apply using the link below.

So, what’s it like being an intern at MSP?

A few of our team members got their start in public accounting as interns at our firm. Find out more about what it’s like growing your career with us by learning more about their individual experiences:

"Market Street Partners has been a great place to start my career in public accounting. My managers and partners have placed an emphasis on developing my technical and professional skills since my first day as an intern, and I was very well prepared to enter a full-time role by the end of the internship. I chose to stay at MSP as a full-time employee because I saw an exciting future for the firm and because I knew that my managers had a role specifically planned for me in that future."

Micah Davis, Staff Accountant

“Everyone at Market Street was so kind and welcoming when joining the team as an intern. The culture and atmosphere were unlike anything I had experienced before, and it made me certain I wanted to stay on the team post internship. I am so thankful for all I learned and was taught during my time as an intern. And I am so excited to continue to use the CPA Launch Program as I really start to hit the ground running with my studying. It is such an awesome benefit and incentive Market Street offers now as I continue my career as a staff accountant!”

Macy Milliken, Staff Accountant

"I had a great experience interning at MSP. It was practical real-life accounting that helped translate topics I was learning in school at the time from the textbook to a real-world application. I've always felt connected with my team and with the partners at the firm. MSP strives to provide quality client service and I've felt that the internship program has led to an in-depth understanding of the accounting world. It was my internship at MSP that let me know this company is a place I really felt valued as a member of the team and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."

Jacob Dobbs, CPA, Senior Accountant

Interested in joining our team? Market Street Partners offers two internship tracks:

1. Accounting Interns

Our Accounting Interns participate in a seasonal internship that has a designated start and end date. Spring internships start Mid-January and go to Mid-April. Summer interns start Mid-May and end in early August. At the end of your seasonal internship, MSP will consider extending an offer for full-time employment post-graduation.

This internship path is ideal for those who do not currently live in Chattanooga but are able to relocate for the duration of the internship. They are also well-suited for students who are only able to work during a specific time of the year, such as student-athletes.

2. Junior Staff Accountants

Our Junior Staff Accountants participate in an internship that has no designated end date. This internship is an opportunity for a student to work at our firm until they complete their degree. Our hope is for Junior Staff Accountants to seamlessly transition into full-time staff after they finish their degree.

Qualifications

For both of these internship paths, we require that students have completed their sophomore year of college and are on location in our Chattanooga office for the duration of their internship. Priority will be given to upperclassmen who have at least completed their Junior year. Priority for the Summer seasonal internships will be given to those who are unable to be on location in our Chattanooga office during the school year.
