By Josh Wilson, CPA, Manager
I have an amazing wife named Jill and mutt named Weller. Jill and I really enjoy great food and drinks, running, and hiking together. If I am not with Jill, I can be found on a golf course or reading about golf course architecture. I grew up in Marietta, Georgia, and played baseball at Lee University and Reinhardt University. I graduated from Reinhardt University with B.S. Accounting in 2012 and began my career working for a Top 100 accounting firm based in Atlanta, focusing on auditing and assurance.
The firm I was working with had a satellite office in Nashville and I moved there in the summer of 2015. I met my wife while I was living in Nashville and she was living in St. Louis. I transitioned away from public accounting for one year when I moved to St. Louis, working in international accounting and finance for a Fortune 500 agricultural technology company.
Prior to joining Market Street Partners, I spent 2 years at a small local firm, focusing on assurance and tax for small and middle market clients. I found my passion when I was provided the ability to see a job through from start to finish, while developing great client relationships.
Why I Chose MSP
What drew me to MSP was the immediate feeling of trust that the partners instilled from the start. I felt that they had my best interest in succeeding as a professional at heart, and I still feel that way today. These four partners have established a culture and synergy between coworkers that is hard to replicate. Kyle, Kevin, John, and Matt have done a great job of creating an environment where everyone works together to provide our clients with the best service possible.
Aside from the culture, the expertise under this roof is unmatched, in my opinion. Most of management has come from larger firms prior to working at MSP, so they bring a level of knowledge that competes with, and perhaps exceeds, that of most large, regional firms. These qualities made MSP stand out for me, and make it easy to champion their name throughout the community.
I look forward to continuing to build strong and trustworthy relationships within MSP and in the community. The client relationships that I have developed make every day worthwhile. The spectrums of industry vary, but the quality of people that I get to interact with is top-notch across the board. Providing great service to my clients is a given, but learning about their lives is a gift.
