By Kyle Bryant, Managing Partner, Smith + Howard Chattanooga
It’s hard to believe that it’s already been six months since we announced our merger with Smith + Howard. It feels like just yesterday that I was in meetings with company leaders establishing the terms of our partnership, and ultimately ensuring that by joining forces, both of our teams would reach new heights. If you missed the news of our merger, I think the most critical thing I’d want to share is that we arrived at our decision because we each knew we’d be able to accomplish more for our clients with expanded resources and talent on our sides than we could ever achieve independently.
Since our formal announcement last August, our teams have spent countless hours familiarizing ourselves with each office’s unique strengths, really getting to know one another as people, and finding ways to combine the best parts of our company cultures. Through it all, we’ve been setting ourselves up for a monumental 2024.
Expanding Career Opportunities
Know someone looking for an accounting job? Send them our way.
I may be stating the obvious here, but merging two successful companies brings greater career opportunities for our staff and prospective hires across the region. As of January 2024 (when I was writing this article), we were hiring for six positions in our Smith + Howard Chattanooga office — roles varying from entry-level staff to managerial roles for seasoned professionals.
As Market Street Partners, we were recognized as one of Chattanooga’s Best Places to Work by Edge Magazine, as well as one of the nation’s Best Firms to Work For by Accounting Today. As Smith + Howard Chattanooga, we’re uniquely positioned to build upon the integrity of our award-winning culture.
A Productive Busy Season
Everything about our merger with Smith + Howard was strategic — including the timing. Finalizing our partnership and merging our teams in August gave us months to prepare for our busiest time of year. Our Chattanooga team is equipped with even more tools and resources to ensure the most efficient and effective tax season we’ve experienced since our founding.
More Time for You
Since my business partner Kevin Rose and I founded Market Street Partners in 2016, we’ve focused heavily on building deep and intentional relationships with our customers. We’ve had the honor of helping Chattanoogans start businesses, grow businesses, and navigate times of turmoil and success. More than anything, we’ve aimed to deliver excellence in customer service while also delivering excellence in accounting. Becoming Smith + Howard Chattanooga expands our talent pool, our access to technology, and our ability to spend more time with you.
We look forward to seeing what 2024 holds.
A co-founding partner at Market Street Partners, Kyle Bryant now serves as Managing Partner of the Smith + Howard Chattanooga Office.
